Jim AlexisIn my personal training practice and fitness experience it became very clear to me that most older adults had no idea what they should be doing to maintain a level of physical fitness. As they got older, maintaining personal independence was extremely important to them, but the question was how could they get that done?

Recommendations of the President's Council on Physical Fitness, the American Heart Association, and others, just seemed to require more fitness knowledge than they possessed or seemed to require more time than they felt they could commit to.

Regardless, something was happening that kept older adults from being physically fit.

Subsequently, I developed a fitness program for older adults that provides them with the basic fitness knowledge and exercise skills needed to live a physically active healthy lifestyle.
