The Fitness 60 plus ™ program is a fusion of Eastern and Western exercise practices, including Chi Kung, and is based on exercise recommendations of the American Senior Fitness Association, the American Council on Exercise, the Mayo Clinic, and the work of Dr. Stuart McGill, a professor of spine bio-mechanics at the University of Waterloo (Waterloo, Ontario).
In addition to the exercises, the program focuses on the importance of regular physical activity, healthy eating, and achieving a healthy body weight.
The exercises have been placed in modules, some of which can be done every day, and some of which are performed two to three times per week.
Each exercise period, usually done first thing in the morning, never takes longer than twenty minutes.
These exercises are performed at home and basically are free body movements with no need to use expensive equipment. Only the resistance exercises utilize an exercise band.
